--Building up modernized city
The proper city district of Humen is a tiny place before
reform and opening-up, with an area of 1.2 km2. Now the
urban area has already been expanded to 8 km2 and emerged
a batch of significant modern buildings, such as Taiping
square garden, the Huanghe commercial city etc.
By the look of present urban pattern, Humen will
form three functional areas:The city district is the
shopping center; the island of Weiyuan is the district
for holidays of provincial travel in the future; Shajiao
is the future harbor.
Entering 21st century, Humen town holds good opportunity,
first propose to take "clothing, electron, travel,
harbor" as developing of the industry. At the beginning
of new century, try to turn Humen into one "International
famous commercial city", take clothing, electron
as head, take historic site, reform and opening-up as
theme of tourist attraction, take modernized port as
the base of international manufacture.
With all three major industries, Humen the new modernized
seashore city stands in the south of China.
